Reservation Terms and Conditions

Guarantee
A valid American Express, Mastercard, or Visa credit card is required to guarantee all reservations. This card may be preauthorized at any time prior to arrival to confirm validity and prevent fraud, and will be charged any applicable cancellation or no-show fees.

Arrival requirements

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to check in.
  • At check-in, you must present a valid American Express, Mastercard, or Visa credit card together with government-issued identification in a matching name. Debit cards are not accepted.
  • Your card will be preauthorized for an amount equal to your full stay plus $100.00 per night for incidentals. Upon departure, your card will be charged the actual stay amount, including any incidental charges incurred. We release any excess preauthorization immediately, but your bank may take 2–5 business days to process the release and reflect it on your account. This timeline is set by your bank, and international banks may take longer.

Third-party billing

  • You can arrange for a third-party card to cover the final stay amount; common scenarios include corporate travel and personal gifts. We collect card-not-present details and matching identification through Canary Technologies, a PCI-compliant provider.
  • Third-party billing must be submitted at least three days before arrival.
  • Guests with confirmed third-party billing must still present valid identification at check-in, along with a valid American Express, Mastercard, or Visa credit card for incidentals if the third-party billing does not cover them.

Cancellations
Reservations booked directly with Hotel Arts Kensington may be cancelled free of charge up to 3:00 p.m. Alberta Time on the cancellation date shown at the time of booking and in your confirmation email. You can cancel by replying to your confirmation email, by phone, or by using the self-serve link in that email. Reservations cancelled after the deadline will be charged the first-night rate plus fees and taxes or, if applicable, the full deposit amount.

Reservations made through a third party are subject to the conditions you accepted with that third party and must be cancelled through your original booking agent. Hotel Arts Kensington cannot modify or cancel these reservations.

No-shows
If you do not arrive on your scheduled arrival date and have not notified us, we will charge the first-night rate plus fees and taxes or, if applicable, the full deposit amount. Any remaining nights will be cancelled. If you arrive later during your original stay dates, our ability to accommodate you will be subject to availability.

Currency
All charges from Hotel Arts Kensington are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Calgary Destination Marketing Fee
Hotel Arts Kensington participates in the Calgary Destination Marketing Fund. A 6% fee is collected as part of the total stay amount and remitted in full to the fund, which is used exclusively for initiatives that promote Calgary. For more information, visit the Calgary Hotel Association.

Taxes
All accommodation charges are subject to the Alberta Tourism Levy and federal GST. Taxes are estimated at the time of booking using current rates; as required by law, the rate in effect at the time of stay is the rate charged.
